Just like our matcha scoop, it's made in Shizuoka, Japan by hand, from a single piece of bamboo. This quality is essential to effectively whisk our Japanese matchas into beautiful, frothy green goodness.
You can tell the quality of a chasen by the number of prongs it possesses - ours has 80 to be precise, intricately made out of one piece of bamboo.
Use your matcha scoop to measure 2 scoops of matcha into a matcha bowl or tea bowl, add 100ml (4 fl oz) of water at 70°C (158°F) and carefully whisk the tea in a figure-of-eight motion, ensuring smooth and frothy tea.
Wash by gently rinsing under warm water and leave to dry standing upright.
